<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a system and method for providing indication of a gap in transmission so as not to be interpreted by an access point and an access terminal as a mark showing that a resource with the gap in transmission assigned thereto is not available. <P>SOLUTION: The assignment transmission resource of forward and backward links that is assigned to transmitting entity is managed for a period of time. An indication of a gap is provided whenever the transmitting entity does not transmit actual data packets. However, the transmitting entity is to maintain the assignment of the allocated resource. For example, the length of an erasure signature packet is selected based on an available resource, and the erasure signature packet is transmitted on the assigned resource when there is no actual data to transmit by using the assigned resource. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT</p> |
