PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide 'Fail Safe' in case that an application which achieves control to a recording medium, is abnormally finished or the application fails at start-up. SOLUTION: A play list consisting of an AVClip and play list information, an application, and a BD-J Object, are recorded in a BD-ROM. The application is a program which is described in a programming language for a virtual machine, and an existence section, in which execution by the virtual machine is enabled, is preliminarily stipulated. The BD-J Object includes a reproduction continuing flag which stipulates recovery processing to be executed when the application is abnormally finished and the reproduction continuing flag is set to a prescribed value to indicate that a reproducing device continues reproduction control executed simultaneously with the application even after the application is abnormally finished.
