PURPOSE: An apparatus and method for displaying an image in an image display device are provided to display broadcasting information not to be overlapped with a broadcasting logo. CONSTITUTION: An image receiver(105) receives a broadcasting signal including a broadcasting log from the outside, and an OSD generating unit(125) generates an OSD information screen. A display unit displays a broadcasting image and an OSD including the broadcasting log. A histogram analysis unit(120) analyzes a histogram of a screen which displays the broadcasting image. A control unit(130) controls the OSD to be displayed and determines the display position of the OSD according to the histogram analysis result.
