PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a connector capable of reducing a mounting surface on a substrate without causing degradation of transmission characteristics, in the connector with a number of rows of contacts. SOLUTION: In a first terminal row RT1, by arranging a pair of signal contacts C22, C23 between a pair of signal contacts C11, C12 and a pair of signal contacts C14, C15, a distance between the pair of signal contacts C11, C12 and the pair of the signal contacts C14, C15 is widened, as compared with an insertion-coupling side to a plug. In the same way, by arranging a pair of signal contacts C42, C43 between a pair of signal contacts C31, C32 and a pair of signal contacts C34, C35, in a third terminal row RT3, a distance between the pair of signal contacts C31, C32 and the pair of signal contacts C34, C35 is widened, as compared with an insertion-coupling side to a plug.
