PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the size on the base side of a rotor while keeping good braking of the rotor. SOLUTION: A spinning reel for fishing includes a connecting member 40 set on the base side of an arm portion 2b and moved by being pressed with a connecting member connected to a bail supporting member by reversing operation of the bail supporting member 2d, and a receiving portion 50 formed on a reel body 1 and pressed with the connecting member 40, wherein the connecting member 40 is composed so that a base end portion 41 is pressed with the connecting member to move to the reel body 1 side and an end part 42 is pressed with the receiving portion 50 to apply braking force to a rotor 2 when a bail supporting member 2d is reversingly operated to the fishline-releasing point, and the base part 41 of the connecting member 40 is composed to be set on the bail supporting member 2d side against the end part 42.
