PURPOSE: A functional pigment is provided to ensure excellent dispersibility, chemical and photochemical stability, pure color, and to exhibit smooth and natural texture. CONSTITUTION: A functional pigment is based on spherical particles with a particle diameter of 0.1-100 micron. Aggregate, BaSO4, or their mixture are coated on the surface of the spherical particles(a first layer) and selectively coated on an additional layer(a second layer) including metal oxide or metal oxide compound, lake, or berlin blue. The aggregate is selected from the group consisting of ZrO2, ZnO, Al2O3, TiO2, Fe2O3, Fe3O4 and FeOOH.
