PURPOSE: A device for loading mold powder for a continuous casting plant is provided to improve quality of casting work since mold powder is laminated on the top of molten steel to uniform thickness since the input amount of mold powder and the rotation period of a transfer member are controlled. CONSTITUTION: A device for loading mold powder for a continuous casting plant comprises a sensing unit, a feeding member(100), and a control unit. The sensing unit senses the surface level of molten steel and the height of the surface of mold powder(P). The sensing unit comprises a level sensor(210). The level sensor measures the surface level of the molten steel using the eddy current according to the excitation of the high-frequency current. The feeding member is placed on the top of the mold. The feeding member is placed horizontally to the mold through a movable unit. The control unit calculates difference between the surface water level of the molten steel detected from the sensing unit and the height of the surface of the mold powder. The control unit controls the input amount of the mold powder and the operation of the feeding member according to the thickness of the mold powder.
