PURPOSE: A generation system and a method for managing a battery based on a limiting survival mode are provided to limit battery discharge in maximum under extreme situations in which solar power generation and wind power generation are not operated for long time. CONSTITUTION: An electric power system comprises a generator, a charging circuit, a battery, an electric power inverter, and a controller. The charging circuit charges the electricity from the generator to the battery. When the operation of a main controller is stopped in an extreme situation, the charging is intercepted. A power conversion unit converts the power of the battery to a system as the generator charges the battery. A control circuit monitors the voltage of the battery and control the electric power system to operate in a normal mode, an extreme situation, and a restoration mode.
