PURPOSE: A key input controlling apparatus and method thereof are provided to inform a central processing unit about key input by normal operation. CONSTITUTION: A key input latch unit(203) reads out an inputted key value every predetermined reading cycle. A status storage unit(205) updates a read key value as a key status value. If a stored key status value matches with a read key value, a periodical counter(211) outputs a latch signal. If the outputted latch signal is received, a key value register(213) stores the stored key state value as a final key value.
