<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To properly handle a corresponding TransferJet apparatus by a corresponding protocol when communications between a USB host apparatus and the TransferJet apparatus are relayed. <P>SOLUTION: A USB dongle as a USB device capable of communicating with the TransferJet apparatus is made to wait without establishing USB connection when attached to a printer as a USB host. The TransferJet apparatus is held to the USB dongle and exchange of a communication protocol is completed by negotiation with the TransferJet apparatus, and then the USB connection with the printer is established by the communication protocol. Thus, even when the TransferJet apparatus corresponds to any protocol, the printer is required to start a class driver of the corresponding protocol only once when the USB connection is established, and the resource required for the printer can be minimized. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT</p> |
