PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce weight and lower manufacturing cost while enhancing the strength of a rear bumper, in a reinforcing structure of the rear bumper disposed on the vehicle rear side of an automobile. SOLUTION: Between a rear end part 27b of a longitudinal cross 27 and a rear bumper cover 31, an interposed member 40 is arranged interposed to nearly fill between these, and formed of a rectangular foamed resin molded product. This interposed member 40 is inserted into an insertion hole 23 provided to a lower back frame 22 in advance. If the rear bumper cover 31 is subjected to an external force and deformed elastically, the interposed member 40 deforms plastically in a state supported by the longitudinal cross 27.
