PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for simply and quickly determining the quantity of iodine contained in an Fe3+containing solution in the case of use of iodine for leaching out in a wet refining method.

SOLUTION: The total quantity of iodine contained in an Fe3+containing solution is determined by adding zinc powder for reduction after adding an acidic chelate agent as a preprocess and by measuring the concentration of iodide ions through an iodine selective ion electrode after filtering out extra zinc powder.
