<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the driving loss of a reverse input cutoff clutch which transmits input torque in one direction. <P>SOLUTION: Rollers 3 which are arranged in a wedged space 12 between an outer ring 10 as part of an input rotary member 1 and an output shaft 2 are held by a cage 4 which receives rotating resistance from a housing 7 via a sliding spring 5, and a flywheel 6 is mounted on the cage 4. When input torque is applied in a fixed direction, the rollers 3 are engaged with the outer ring 10 and the output shaft 2 via the cage 4 to transmit the torque to the output shaft 2. When the supply of the input torque is stopped, the cage 4 coasts integrally with the flywheel 6 to cancel the condition that the rollers 3 are engaged with the outer ring 10 and the output shaft 2, thereby making the output shaft 2 idle run relative to reverse input torque. Thus, friction force between the sliding spring 5 and the housing 7 is set smaller than conventional one to reduce the driving loss resulting from the friction force. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT</p> |
