PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To further improve conductivity of a transparent conductor which is useful as a translucent electromagnetic wave shield film of various display devices, and a transparent electrode and a transparent surface heating element or the like of various electronic devices. SOLUTION: The method of manufacturing the transparent conductor having a conductive layer containing a plurality of metal nano-wires includes a preparation process in which a coating liquid 64 containing a plurality of metal nano-wires is prepared and a coating process in which a metal nano-wire dispersion layer 50 is formed by coating the coating liquid 64 on one main surface of a film 12. The coating process is carried out using a slot die coater 54 having a slot die 52, and when the transfer speed (coating speed) of the film 12 when coating the coating liquid 64 on the one main surface of the film 12 is made v [m/s] and a spacing between a head tip 62 of the slot die 52 and the one main surface of the film 12 is made g[m], the shear rate as shown by v/g [1/s] is 100-10,000 [1/s].
