PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a knitting method for joining a front and a rear knitted fabrics formed into two layers in the middle of knitting width without making a knitting yarn knitting at least a knitted fabric of one needle bed affect appearance of knitted stitch of the other knitted fabric in joining knitted fabrics to be engaged with knitting needles of a front and a rear needle beds, respectively. SOLUTION: A flat knitting machine having at least a pair of a front and a rear needle beds is used to form a first knitted stitch line by a knitting needle of first needle bed, and to opposingly form a second knitted stitch line by a knitting needle of second needle bed. The knitted stitch of the first knitted stitch line to be engaged with the knitting needle of the first needle bed by premium knitting is laid on a knitted stitch of the second knitted stitch line to be engaged with the knitting needle of the opposing second needle bed by stitch transfer to give a knitted stitch for joining. In the operation, a yarn is fed to a knitting needle of the first needle bed for stitch transfer and knitted to form a new knitted stitch. A new knitted stitch is knitted on the knitted stitch for joining being an overlapping stitch to be engaged with the second needle bed and a front and a rear knitted fabrics are linked in the middle of knitting width.
