PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a nipping preventive device of a passenger conveyor, easily installable between an existing guide fence and a handrail, and capable of preventing baggage of a user from being nipped between a tail end part of the handrail and the guide fence without displacing the fence. SOLUTION: The nipping preventive device includes a pair of support columns 21, a pair of side plates 22, a plurality of rotatable rollers 23, and rollers 24. The side plates 22 are mutually opposed by sandwiching the tail end part of the handrail 7 and an end part on the handrail 7 side of the guide fence 9. The rollers 23 are mutually arranged at an interval between upper end parts of the side plates 22. The rollers 24 are rotated by the movement of a moving handrail 8 by frictionally contacting with the moving handrail 8. The rollers 23 contacting with the rollers 24 are rotated in the opposite direction of the rollers 24 by interlocking with the movement of the moving handrail 8. COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT
