SHAPE RECOGNITION METHOD AND SHAPE RECOGNITION DEVICE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To considerably enhance the capability to recognize a photographic object by recognizing a shape of the photographic object on the basis of an infrared image of the photographic object photographed without a light source by an infrared camera and by converting the recognized shape of the photographic object to an object of reflector representation. SOLUTION: Infrared cameras 2 to 4 photograph a light emitting body being one photographic object without using a light source and output infrared image signals. A shape recognition part 113 performs matching of the infrared image signals from the infrared cameras 2 to 4 on the basis of their temperature distribution and then decides a three-dimensional shape of the light emitting body being the photographic object on the basis of an infrared image resulting from the matching. A reflector conversion part 114 sets a virtual visible light source for the decided three-dimensional shape and generates a reflector image having the three-dimensional shape, which is obtained by irradiating the three-dimensional shape with visible light from the visible light source.
