<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for preventing the closing of a housing by simple and highly reliable means when there is no filter element, when any wrong type filter element is used or when a filter element is mounted by the wrong method. <P>SOLUTION: In the filter system for fluid filtration, the filter element has at least one of filter element guide passages and the rim region of the housing or cover has at least one of rim guide passage 72. When the closing movement to close the housing is practised, the filter element guide passage and the rim guide passage complement each other to form the guide passage, and at least one of the fixed elements installed on the cover or housing along the guide passage is guided.
