The vehicle has a dial plate (11) connecting an end of a column (13) to an end of another column (12). The dial plate defines a spindle type connection between the columns. A steering element (1) has an adjusting unit (3) for adjusting inclination of the former column with respect to a structure of the vehicle between limited positions. The adjusting unit has a bearing (34) in which the former column is mounted. The adjusting unit has a yoke (31) articulated on the vehicle structure. The yoke carries the bearing which is pivotally attached to the yoke.
