<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a manufacturing method capable of producing a carbonyl compound with good purity from an olefin. <P>SOLUTION: In the method for manufacturing a ketone including a step of oxidizing an olefin in a mixture including a palladium metal and/or a palladium compound, a heteropolyacid and/or a heteropolyacid salt, a nitrile compound, and the olefin, the mixture further includes a chlorine compound.
