<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical energy transmission device having a function for suppressing progress of fiber fuse, which occurs when transmitting high-density optical energy by using an optical fiber, simultaneously with stopping leakage of the high-density optical energy to the outside of the optical fiber instantaneously by detecting occurrence of the fiber fuse immediately and immediately stopping transmission of the optical energy. <P>SOLUTION: The optical energy transmission device includes: a multi-clad optical fiber which has multi-clad structure including two or more clad layers and in which a core and the clad surrounding the core become optical paths respectively; an incident optical path which is configured to make transmitted light incident on the optical fiber; a light branching means which is configured to branch return light propagated in the clad; a fiber fuse signal detector which detects a fiber fuse signal from the branched return light; and a control means which receives detection output and stops or suppresses incidence of transmitted light on the optical fiber. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT</p> |
