<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus and method for selecting images having the optimal parallax suitable for a display size or viewer's age when displaying a three-dimensional image. <P>SOLUTION: In a configuration wherein a pair of images having parallax between a left eye image and a right eye image are output to a display part to display a three-dimensional image, images suitable for the display size of the display part or viewer's age are selected and output. A pair of images having a small parallax are selected as display images when the display size of the display part is large, and a pair of images having a relatively large parallax are selected as display images when the display size of the display part is small. Furthermore, a pair of images having a relatively small parallax are selected as display images when viewer's age is under a preliminarily set threshold, for example, 7, and thus display processing is performed. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT</p> |
