PRINTING PROCESS MODEL PREDICTIVE CONTROL WITH DISTURBANCE PREVIEW

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a printing process model predictive control with a disturbance preview.

SOLUTION: An image reproducing unit 235 includes: a movable imaging member including an imaging surface; an imaging system to form and transfer an image from the imaging surface onto a print media; a fusing system to applied to the print media; an interface to receive sensing data and to acquire at least one disturbance preview; and a dynamic model predictive controller 230 to control the image reproducing unit 235 based on the sensed data and the at least one disturbance preview. The dynamic model predictive controller 230 determines a progressive change made by integrating influence of steady state and transient state on the image reproducing unit 235. The control of the image reproducing unit 235 is generated in real time over a receding horizon, for the purpose of minimizing a cost function.
