DISCHARGE LAMP LIGHTING DEVICE, LUMINAIRE, AND LIGHTING SYSTEM

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a discharge lamp lighting device for requiring a shorter wire while achieving a low-profile luminaire whose width is smaller than the diameter of a discharge lamp, and to provide the luminaire and a lighting system. SOLUTION: The lighting system 10 includes a combination of a discharge lamp 19, a discharge lamp lighting device 17 for lighting the discharge lamp 19 and a luminaire 16 holding the discharge lamp 19 and having the built-in discharge lamp lighting device 17. The lighting system 10 is set so that a width W1 of the discharge lamp lighting device 17 is smaller than or, at least, almost equal to a diameter D1 of the discharge lamp 19.
