PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To detect the abnormality of an output voltage even at soft start. SOLUTION: Soft start reference voltage circuits 16 and 18 output soft start reference voltages which rise gradually at the start of power and are kept at reference voltages after they reach the reference voltages Vref. An output voltage control circuit 12 controls the output voltage according to the soft start reference voltage Vs. A threshold voltage generating circuit 30 generates a threshold voltage that is lower by a specified quantity than the soft start reference voltage Vs. An abnormality detecting circuit 32 compares the threshold voltage with the output voltage and detects a specified drop or over in the output voltage. COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT
