<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To accurately perform a leakage test of a liquid capacity meter such as a pipette by the use of a portable compact device. <P>SOLUTION: A pipette P is connected to the device body side via a tube 11. In this condition, suction operation of a pump 3 is performed by instructions of a central processing unit 8. The pressure on the pipette P side is reduced up to a predetermined pressure, and changes in the pressure are observed by the use of a pressure sensor 7 for a predetermined period of time. The central processing unit 8 determines whether the pipette P has a leak, and displays the decision results on a display part 9. An air flow pulsates on the occasion of the suction especially when the pump 3 is a diaphragm type, so that this pulsation is attenuated in a pressure vessel 5, and its adverse effect on others is prevented. In the flow route of air, a filter 10 is disposed to prevent residual substances from entering the device from the pipette P side on the occasion of decompression, and prevent dust from entering the pipette P out of a gas discharged from the pump 3 side on the occasion of pressurization.
