Disclosed is an organic photoelectric conversion element equipped with an operating portion, which is provided with a pair of electrodes and an active layer that comprises an organic compound and that is positioned between the aforementioned pair of electrodes, and a sealing layer that covers at least a portion of the aforementioned operating portion, wherein the aforementioned sealing layer includes a material with oxygen absorption properties and/or water absorption properties, and the organic photoelectric conversion element has excellent photoelectric conversion efficiency.
