The device (1) has a hydrostatic pump (15) and a drive shaft (2) that is driven by a primary drive aggregate unit (3) i.e. internal combustion engine such as diesel engine, of a vehicle. An output shaft (11) is utilized for driving an auxiliary unit i.e. generator (12). A hydrostatic engine is driven by the hydrostatic pump, and an overlapping transmission (8) i.e. planetary gear, overlaps a mechanical power portion of the aggregate unit and a power portion of the engine for driving the output shaft, where the hydrostatic pump is coupled with the output shaft by a transmission device (16).
