<p>The invention discloses a method and a system for obtaining machine type communication (MTC) terminal information. The method is applied to the system including a mobility management network element and a MTC server. Within, the mobility management network element connects with the MTC server. The method includes: through the mobility management network element, the MTC server obtaining the information about the MTC terminal which requests to attach to the network currently or has attached to the network. Through the invention, the MTC server can obtain the MTC terminal information, and then can judge and control the performance of the MTC terminal efficiently.</p>
