LOAD TURN-OFF CIRCUIT AND METHOD FOR THYRISTOR

A load turn-off circuit and method for thyristor are disclosed. The circuit is connected to a thyristor output power supply, and it includes a voltage detecting circuit detecting a voltage of the thyristor output power supply and obtaining the detecting voltage. A comparing control circuit compares the detecting voltage with a preset voltage and generates a driving voltage according to the compared result. A switch circuit is connected with the comparing control circuit and is on or off state according to the driving voltage of the comparing control circuit. A power consumption circuit is respectively connected with the thyristor output power supply and a load for making or breaking connection between the thyristor output power supply and the load according to the on/off state of the switch circuit. The load turn-off circuit and method for thyristor of the invention enables the whole circuit to be in a low resistance state after the thyristor output power supply is turned off. Thus the leakage current driving the load to work after the thyristor output power supply is turned off is prevented.
