The invention relates to a profile element for roller shutters, in particular a sound-absorbing roller shutter profile element for cupboards. In order to improve the sound-absorbing properties of the profile element as compared to conventional solutions by using novel techniques, the profile element according to the invention comprises a perforated film that extends at least in some sections over at least one opening of the profile element in order to form a sound absorber for room-acoustic applications.
