[Also in Division F2] A torsion spring arrangement for seats comprises a support means 22, 23, 24 to which are welded two. torsion springs 28 which, in turn, are connected to a pair of cantilever members- 29 joined by a crosspiece 31 to form a main frame. A furtherspring arrangement 35 including two torsion springs 36 and cantilever members 37 is connected to the cross-piece 31. A frame 40 for a back rest of similar construction to the seat is connected to the support means. The frames are constructed from spring bar or tubular steel stock the further spring arrangement having smaller diameter stock than the main frame. In other embodiments the further spring arrangement may comprise a loop of the main frame of the same or smaller diameter stock than the main frame (Figs. 4 to 10, not shown). The arrangements may form frames of bench type seats (Figs. 11, 12, not shown). The frames may have moulded thereabout a foamed polyurethane cover.
