<p>A pivot rod (10) is formed by overmolding the end of a grooved rod with a plastic cap (28). The pivot rod (10) may be formed out of shear resistant materials such as steel or the like. The invention also relates to a modular plastic conveyor belt wherein the belt modules are linked by said pirot rods.</p>
