The system (2) has an air conditioning arrangement (6) connected with an air compressor (4) and a compressed air reservoir (8) by pressure pipes (10, 12). A regulating valve device (14) is attached to the arrangement, and opens one of the pipes between the compressor and the arrangement against atmosphere during non-conveying operation of the system. The regulating valve device is formed to subject the pressure pipe with compressed air from the compressed air reservoir during switching of the system from the non-conveying operation to a conveying operation. An independent claim is also included for a method for operating an air conveying system.
