A protective material includes a porous substrate having cross-linked self-decontaminating polymer grafted thereon, the cross-linked self-decontaminating polymer having been converted after grafting to activate self-decontaminating function. The cross-linked self-decontaminating polymer provides the protective material with reversible swelling ability to block the porous substrate when the protective barrier is contacted by liquids. |
