Currently there are various ways a caller can phone a call recipient. For example, a caller can directly phone a call recipient by phoning the recipient's number. A caller can also phone a directory service's number and then be assisted by an automated speech recognition system (also called a voice or sound recognition system or service) that then connects the caller with the recipient. Currently businesses advertise their own phone numbers individually. In other words, each business advertises its own number as a contact number which clients or customers can contact them on. In other words, businesses do not advertise a directory service's number or a call assist service's number as their contact number. This innovation involves a shared advertised contact number which is used by more than one business as a contact number. This innovation involves the shared number holder allocating a unique sound recording to each shared number user and their unique contact number, which are their own contact numbers, and which are stored with the shared number holder. Each shared number user must advertise their unique sound recording when advertising the shared number as a contact number. With this innovation, a caller phones a shared number holder and by means of producing sounds that resemble the sound recording of a specific recipient (shared number user) is connected with the recipient by the shared number holder. This shared number can be used by more than one user (party) but each shared number user has a unique sound recording.
