POLYETHYLENE TEREPHTHALATE COMPOSITION, MANUFACTURING METHOD THEREFOR, AND POLYETHYLENE TEREPHTHALATE FILM

Provided is a polyethylene terephthalate composition that contains a copolymer component having three or more active bonds, in an amount between 0.01 mol% and 1.00 mol% with respect to the ethylene terephthalate units. The ratio (Mw/Mn) between the weight-average molecular weight of the polyethylene terephthalate composition and the number-average molecular weight thereof is between 5.0 and 8.0. The polyethylene terephthalate composition contains an alkali metal compound in an amount between 1.0 mol/ton and 3.0 mol/ton, in terms of the alkali metal atoms thereof, and a phosphorous compound in an amount between 1.5 mol/ton and 5.0 mol/ton, in terms of the phosphorous atoms thereof. Also, o-chlorophenol-insoluble matter constitutes less than 0.50% of the polyethylene terephthalate composition by weight. The polyethylene terephthalate composition is resistant to hydrolysis, has an excellent elongation retention ratio, and is suitable as a film for use in solar cells.
