<p>An optical system (100A) is provided with: a reflective type imaging element (10); and a liquid crystal display panel (20A) which is arranged on the optical input side of the reflective type imaging element (10) at an inclination so as to establish a display surface angle of 45° to 75° with respect to the plane defined by the reflective type imaging element (10), the visual angle dependence of the contrast ratio having a centre value in a direction inclined by at least 10° from the normal of the display face in the inclination direction of the display face. An image that is displayed on the display face of the liquid crystal display panel (20A) is formed in a position that is plane-symmetrical, the symmetry plane being the reflective type imaging element (10). The optical system (100A) is able to display an image, which appears to be floating, with high display quality.</p> |
