The present invention relates to a method implemented using a computer system (11) for simulating the musculoskeletal system of a person by means of a virtual musculoskeletal structure, the musculoskeletal structure extending from the neck to the feet and showing the feet as a deformable articulation, the input quantities applied to the musculoskeletal structure being modifiable and/or the musculoskeletal structure being modifiable by changing predefined parameters, the musculoskeletal structure taking into account: the interactions between the kinematic and dynamic behaviour of the feet and the kinematic and dynamic behaviour of at least one other articulation of the musculoskeletal system, and the movements produced in the saggital plane during the movement of the musculoskeletal system and the movements undergone by the skeleton in at least one plane other than the saggital plane. According to the invention the method includes: the movement and/or displacement of the musculoskeletal system is simulated by means of the musculoskeletal structure; and at least one of the predefined parameters of the musculoskeletal structure and/or at least one of the input quantities applied to the musculoskeletal structure are modified in order to adapt said values to the operation of the musculoskeletal system of said person.
