The system (15) has a display device designed as a head-UP-display (HUD) (16) for representation of information (17) on a windscreen (5) of a vehicle (2). An input device (14) includes a manually operated control element for inputting data. The element is arranged at a steering wheel (6) and/or in an area of an instrument panel (7), where the area lies in direct vicinity of the wheel. The input device comprises a contactless sensor (10) detecting vehicle interior area (13) for registration of hand and/or finger trajectories serving data input. The display is a contact-analog HUD. An independent claim is also included for a method for data input in a driver assistance system for a vehicle.
