The present invention discloses a method and device for enabling channel measurement, wherein the method includes: determining a subset of antenna ports to be measured for a user equipment (UE) according to the current state information of the UE; informing the UE of processing a channel measurement corresponding to said subset of antenna ports to be measured and feeding back the channel state information. By the present invention, when the state information of the UE meets certain conditions, the UE can only measure the reference signals of part of the antenna ports, and feed back channel state information corresponding to this part of the antenna ports, thereby reducing the UE's feedback overhead of the channel state information.
