The invention relates to a gripper device (112) for use in a lancet device (110) for generating a sample of a body fluid. In the lancet device (110), a plurality of lancets (120) can be provided next to each other on a carrier element (116) in an application position (124). The gripper device (112) is equipped to seize one lancet (120) at a time in the application position (124) and carry out a piercing movement using the lancet (120). The gripper device (112) comprises at least one stop element (144), which is equipped to stop the lancet (120) in the application position (124) and temporarily prevent further movement of the carrier element (116). The gripper device (112) further comprises at least one positioning element (148), which is equipped to position the lancet (120) during the piercing movement in at least one direction transversely to a piercing direction (126).
