PURPOSE: A light emitting device and manufacturing method thereof are provided to laminate two materials of different refractive indexes to form a reflective layer with high reflectivity, thereby increasing optical efficiency. CONSTITUTION: A lamination structure is formed on a silicon substrate(10). A plurality of oxide silicon films(22a,23a,24a,25a) and a plurality of zinc oxide films(21,26) are alternatively laminated on the lamination structure. A light emitting structure layer is formed on the lamination structure. The light emitting structure layer comprises a first conductive semiconductor layer(40), an active layer(50), and a second semiconductor layer(60). The zinc oxide films are arranged on the top layer and the lowermost layer of the lamination structure.
