PURPOSE: A method and apparatus for managing a key of a smart-card are provided to prevent the authority for a key associated with a smart key from being independently assigned only to a certain organization. CONSTITUTION: A transmission and reception unit(100) transmits and receives smart card related data to and from the servers of agencies of each step corresponding to a life cycle of a smart card. A control unit(200) generates a transport key and a master key based on a seed value received from the servers through the transmission and reception unit to prevent the independency and denial of the key of the smart card. The control unit generates a sub key value related to a master key and the generated transport key. The control unit transfers the generated sub key value to the servers through the transmission and reception key. |
