1,099,124. Capsule for medicaments. SALISBURY GROUP HOSPITAL MANAGEMENT COMMITTEE. July 26, 1965 [April 24, 1964], No. 17129/64. Heading B8C. The nozzle 2 of a capsule is plugged into a blind hole 4 in a plaque 5, the whole arrangement being sterilized by gamma irradiation or similar means after, or immediately before, filling the capsule with a liquid medicament. Both capsule and plaque are of a plastics material, and the capsule is filled through the open end, which may then be heat sealed with a bung 3, also of plastics material. Several capsules may be mounted on the same plaque, their nozzles having capillary passages to minimize the risk of loss of medicament on withdrawal from the plaque. The plaque may be provided with a gamma radiation label (6), Fig. 2 (not shown), and other labels (7) for indicating the date of packaging &c. The plaque slides into a frame 8 which may be mounted on a wall. An alternative means of filling the capsule, after steriliztion, is through a sterilizing membrane filter. The capsule and support may be of low density and high density polythene respectively. |
