<p>PURPOSE: A vertical axis windmill is provided to improve the aerodynamics characteristics of a blade in high-speed and to increase drag for powering in low-speed. CONSTITUTION: A vertical axis windmill comprises a drive shaft, a main body, first supplemental vanes(34), and elastic units. The drive shaft is rotatably installed in a post(11). The main body is installed in the ends of the support members installed on the outer surface of the drive shaft. The main body comprises an edge part and a tail part. The first supplemental vane is supported by the outer surface of the tail part. The elastic units are installed in first hinge shafts and blades(30). The elastic units elastically bias the hinge shafts.</p> |
