1,134,506. Clutch control; bearings. A. PITNER, and NADELLA S.A. 8 March, 1966 [12 March, 1965], No. 9993/66. Headings F2A, F2C and F2L. A clutch release bearing comprises a roller bearing having a race secured to a rotatable clutch part. As shown, a roller bearing 5 has a race 2 secured to a lubricant retaining housing 19 having a sleeve 191 which is fixed to a plate E carried by clutch release levers h by projections 193 engaged in complementary recesses 194 formed in the plate E. The bearing is actuated by a fork F and is subject to a permanent light thrust by a spring 20 to ensure a continuous circulation of the rollers. In a modification the housing 19 is welded to the plate E. The mechanism can be used with a diaphragm spring clutch, the housing 19 being secured to the diaphragm spring by projections or by welding; alternatively the plate 2 is directly connected to the diaphragm spring.
