Method for manufacturing an inhomogeneous sponge

The method involves arranging a body made of a porous thermoplastic material between two plates (2, 3) of a pressing device. An inhomogeneous pore density distribution is produced in the body by pressure- and thermal effects. Shutter speed of the pressing device is kept short so that no uniform temperature is set by the body. The body is cut into a number of sections by a cutting process after the body is cooled, where the body is designed as a rectangular-shaped body. Heat is applied via the plates at 100-250 degrees.
