The stair nosing comprises a first part 12, which engages the tread of a stair, and a second part 14 which is mounted on the first part. One of the first and second parts has a portion which is suitable for extending across the riser of a stair. The nosing may include an edge member 52 pivotally or hingedly attached to one of the parts and extends over an edge region of a stair covering. The first part may have an upwardly extending securing member 25 with a detent formation 26 which cooperates with a downwardly extending securing formation 27 on the second part. The nosing may be fastened to the stair using a screw 42 the nosing having a cover portion 44 which covers the fastening in use. The stair nosing may be formed from a plastics material. |
