PURPOSE: A method for producing a fruit body of Hypsizigus marmoreus using liquid spawn is provided to shorten spawn production time. CONSTITUTION: A fruit body of Hypsizigus marmoreus is produced using liquid spawn obtained by culturing liquid submerged culture of liquid medium containing thickening agent. The thickening agent is seaweed extract, fruit polysaccharide, seed polysaccharide, sap polysaccharide, fermented polysaccharide, storage polysaccharide, animal protein, or cellulose derivative.
